Preparation and characterization of supercritical fluid - fried (CoAl<sub>2</sub>O<sub>4</sub>) cobalt blue nano-pigment

Cobalt blue pigments, which mainly comprise CoAl2O4, are widely synthesized as nano-scale particles using the coprecipitation method. Such ultrafine powders necessary for ceramics industry because of their significant effect on color glaze and bulk tiles. In this paper, cobalt pigments have been prepared method then subjected to supercritical fluid drying. The differences in physicochemical optical properties characterized a series analysis including X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS), CIE-L*a*b*colorimetry analysis. results indicate that CoAl2O4 drying exhibit fine-scale structure, crystallite size approximately 52 nm at 1400°C, an excellent stability high temperatures. They also present vivid color, with improved brightness hue than those other pigments. Furthermore, study elucidates promising potential fabricating nano-sized properties.
